ELINA FOLEROU

Elina Folerou is a Greek artist born in Athens in 1976. She paints and makes constructions since early age. She has studied in London Architectural Engineering and was graduated from University College of London (UCL). Meticulous and experimental, she uses her passion for architecture, photography and art in a harmonious coexistence.

Elina is an emerging artist that transforms everyday life into an idyllic image. Her work explores a gamut of different colors, always vibrant and joyful. She is a self-taught artist influenced by pop art and she typically works on bold colored multi-layered cut out steel, to create her contemporary sculptures. After composing and drawing each one of her themes, they “come to life” by laser cut following dot hand-painting. For the past couple of years, she is focusing on re-interpreting real images into abstract sculptures.
