Emily Vafias is an up-and-coming artist. After completing her undergraduate, she studied architecture at the University of Westminster and went on to get her master’s degree in Interior Design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. During her studies she became accustomed with graphic design, which she particularly likes.
Her art is heavily inspired by pop culture, often depicting elements of everyday life in a fresh and modern way. One fine example is her substituting people with emojis in her paintings. These little perks add to her work optimism and a playful tone.
Emily Vafias’ first solo exhibition in Athens was in support of the Elpida Youth Commitee of the Elpida Association, while recently she presented her work in a solo exhibition in Spetses.
