Born in 1987 in Lille, France, Arthur Dorval was introduced at very young age to the world of art by his father who was an established gallerist. Dorval showed an interest in drawing very early and began his academic training at Saint-Luc Tournai right after high-school. He majored in illustration and continued his education at La Cambre in Brussels. Alongside artists such as Alberto Magnelli, Auguste Herbin and Victor Vasarely, Dorval is today part of the pure Geometric Abstraction movement which started in the beginning of the 20th century.

The play of shapes and colors in his work offers a particular movement and vibrancy which brings a perspective of architectural feats rather than one of paintings. His unique take on geometric images and his signature technique which gives to color a feel of fullness or transparency have made Dorval famous worldwide.

His first series of works Geometric Hatching in 2010 made him prominent and were soon followed by his second series, Composition No.2. Dorval’s artworks have been displayed in galleries across France, Belgium, Morocco, United States and he is now exclusively represented by Artion Galleries in Switzerland. He took part in different fairs among them are the Lille Art Fair (from 2012 to 2015), the Affordable Art Fair in Amsterdam (2016), in Milan and Brussels in 2017.

Arthur Dorval is already an established and one of the most promising French young artists.
